If you are actually going to Medjugorje as some commenters speculated, please note if and when you are given healing/holy water on the organised tours. (Just in case)
Medjugorje does seem to be rather more distant from Zagreb than is convenient for a quick jaunt, but then I'm accustomed to Irish distances. For an American, 500+ km may just be a side trip 😁
Yeah, looking at the map, it's farther than I thought. Maybe he also visits big cities in the region on a longer vacation? Going from California to Medjugorje alone would be pretty inefficient.
Dubrovnik is the closest airport to Medjugorje, but there are no SFO-DBV direct flights, so Scott would be forced to stop somewhere along the way anyway. Why not take the scenic route to Medjugorje if your trip has to be long and complex anyway? The Balkans are beautiful; I would drive along the coast one way and through BiH the other.
If Scott want a true Balkan experience he should get in touch with Nicollo Soldo / Fisted by Foucault (https://niccolo.substack.com/), a notorious RW personality who lives in Split which is on the way to Medjugorje. He also knows people from Medjugorje who can host Scott and give him all the local info he needs.
It's just a possible way for them to get psychoactive drugs into your body. If you do end up seeing something, it would be useful to know whether that was possible.
I think there's some chance this was the explanation for the sun miracle seen by my grandmother's group. Here's my more detailed comment on it:
Okay, now you have me interested. Drugged holy water is some Borgia-level stuff, and the way the fighting between the bishop(s) and the supporters of the visionaries has been going on, I honestly would not be surprised.
But if anyone can collect a sample and get it tested, that would be useful?
Though to be fair, pilgrimages do tend to hand out holy water by the new time - try going to Knock, or Lourdes, without somehow acquiring gallons of it!
Just to clarify, Medjugorje is a claimed site of Marian apparitions, but it hasn’t been officially recognized by the Catholic Church. There have also been longstanding concerns and debates about the financial aspects surrounding the site and those involved.
I'm interested in going. I was shocked out of my mind to find out that an ACX meetup will take place 5 minutes from where I live. I've never been to one of these, can someone quickly explain what sort of stuff people do there?
Somebody posted a fictionalized account of an ACX meeting (assembled from real stories and reports from participants, I understand) in a previous thread:
You will literally stand around in circles and talk. If it's a smaller meetup or Scott is there, you will sit around at a table and Scott will talk and lead a discussion. Good times
Aw man, I’m really bummed I missed this meetup, it sounded like a great time! Will there be another one in Zagreb soon that I could join? https://geodashgame.io
Embark on an unpredictable odyssey through a series of increasingly bizarre atmospheric levels. This journey will take you from minimalist plains to complex industrial labyrinths, each offering a distinct aesthetic and a unique set of hazards. https://drivemad3.io
That coordinates link doesn't work.

Could have sworn I saw you on a flight to Boston...

Why, what's the significance of holy water?

Drop by Belgrade, we'd love to have you here too :)
+1000!
Have a small piva for me.
Oops singular is pivo.
He *is* going to stare at the sun! Scott, don't blind yourself just because you got nerdsniped by Fatima, please.
Theme song for the apparition discussions - U2, Staring At The Sun, 1997:

I'm not the only one
Starin' at the sun
Afraid of what you'd find
If you took a look inside
Not just deaf and dumb
Staring at the sun
Not the only one
Who's happy to go blind
Zagreb moment 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Nice looking bar :)
Wow! How about a side-jaunt to Bulgaria? Sofia is beautiful this time of year.

I've still to go to my first ACX meeting and yet this is exactly the way I remember it.
Mostly just talk to each other.
